This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the WayGenie Terms of Service. It explains what you must not do when you use the WayGenie service operated by NextEraPro Ltd. ("WayGenie", "we").
1. No Scraping or Systematic Extraction
You must not:
- scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Service, including from public Discover pages (
/discover/:slug) or from public trip share links; - use any automated tool, bot, or script to access the Service at a rate or volume that a human would not produce. What constitutes "automated" usage is determined by WayGenie in its sole discretion;
- republish bulk WayGenie content (reviews, AI-generated itineraries, destination metadata) elsewhere without our written permission.
You may:
- read the Service in a normal browser;
- use a single read-only RSS-style fetcher for your own personal trips at a sensible cadence;
- reference WayGenie content in articles or social posts with attribution and a link back.
2. No Abuse of AI Generation
The AI itinerary and AI image features are paid features that incur per-call cost. You must not:
- use automation, multiple accounts, or shared accounts to consume AI credits beyond a normal single-user pace;
- attempt to extract, mirror, or fine-tune any third-party model from prompts and responses;
- use the AI features to generate disallowed content (violence, sexual content involving minors, content designed to deceive a regulated identity check, etc.; see the underlying provider AUPs for the full lists);
- prompt-inject the system in an attempt to exfiltrate other users' data, our system instructions, or our credentials.
We monitor AI usage at the account level and may rate-limit or suspend accounts whose pattern looks automated or abusive.
3. No Impersonation or Misrepresentation
You must not:
- create an account in someone else's name;
- pretend to be affiliated with a brand, hotel, airline, destination, or person you are not authorised to represent;
- claim to be a WayGenie employee.
4. Respect Other People's Data
You must not:
- upload photos that contain identifiable third parties without their consent (an obvious public landmark crowd shot is fine; a clear portrait of a stranger is not);
- include another person's full passport, ID, payment, or sensitive personal data in trip notes, expenses, or photos;
- use the collaborator feature to harass someone, repeatedly invite a person who has declined, or share trips containing their PII without their consent;
- publish a trip publicly that contains another person's identifiable data without their consent;
- use any feature of the Service to track, monitor, or stalk another person's location or movements without their explicit consent;
- expose another person's real-time location or travel plans via a public share link without their explicit consent.
5. No Review Manipulation
The crowdsourced reviews on Discover must be your honest experience. You must not:
- post a review of a place you have not visited;
- coordinate with others to mass post (or mass downvote) reviews;
- post reviews on behalf of a venue you own, operate, or are paid by (this is an incentivised review and is prohibited by law);
- use automation to post reviews;
- post the same review across multiple destinations.
We may remove reviews that breach this section without notice and ban accounts that repeatedly do so.
6. Lawful Use Only
You must not use the Service to plan or facilitate anything illegal under UK law or the law of your country of residence, including (without limitation) human trafficking, drug trafficking, sanctions evasion, wildlife trafficking, or the avoidance of mandatory health, safety, or border-control requirements.
If your use of the Service is the subject of a lawful request from a competent authority (court order, regulator, police), we will comply with the request to the extent legally required.
7. No Interference with the Service
You must not:
- attempt to reverse engineer the Service, except to the limited extent UK law permits (which cannot be excluded by contract);
- attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, plan limits, or security controls;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written permission (we welcome good-faith security reports, see section 10);
- run a denial-of-service attack against the Service or use it as part of one against someone else;
- introduce malware, ransomware, or any other harmful code into the Service or to other users.
8. No Spam via Collaborator Invites
The collaborator-invite feature sends an email on your behalf. You must not use it to send unsolicited bulk email or marketing.
9. Suspension and Termination
Breaches of this AUP can lead to:
- a warning email;
- removal of the offending content;
- temporary suspension;
- permanent termination of the Account, in serious or repeated cases without refund (see the Refund Policy).
We may attempt to use the least-restrictive measure that fits the breach, but we reserve the right to move directly to permanent account termination for serious violations, including but not limited to clearly illegal content, security threats, or repeated breaches.
10. Reporting Abuse and Security Issues
- Content abuse, scraping, impersonation, review manipulation: email team@waygenie.app with the subject "AUP report" and the URL.
- Security vulnerabilities: email team@waygenie.app with the subject "Security report". Please give us at least 30 days to resolve the issue before any public disclosure.
11. Changes to This AUP
We will update this page when the rules change and bump the "Last updated" date. Material changes are also announced in-app.
