AI-generated itineraries, activity recommendations, packing lists, and destination summaries are suggestions produced by a language model. They are a starting point, not a finished travel plan and not professional advice.
The model:
- can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date;
- does not know the live opening hours, pricing, or availability of any place;
- does not know current weather, transport disruptions, or local events;
- can confidently invent things that do not exist (the well-known "hallucination" failure mode);
- cannot see your full personal context, medical needs, or accessibility requirements.
You are the one who decides what to do.
2. Not Professional Advice
- Visas and entry requirements: check the destination country's official immigration website and (for UK travellers) gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
- Vaccinations and medical advice: check the NHS travel-vaccination page or TravelHealthPro, and consult a clinician.
- Safety, conflict zones, civil unrest, or natural-disaster risk: check FCDO travel advice and local government sources.
- Public-health restrictions: check the destination country's official health agency.
- Currency, customs, and import limits: check the destination customs authority.
- Prices and bookings: check the venue or transport provider directly. AI output about prices is essentially always stale.
We do not represent any of the above to be accurate even where the AI presents it confidently.
3. AI-Generated Images
AI-generated images are illustrative, not photographic. They:
- may not depict the actual place;
- may include features that do not exist at the location;
- must not be presented as documentary evidence of anywhere.
Real destination photography in the app comes from Pexels and is attributed where required by the photographer.
4. Your Responsibility Before Travelling
Before you travel based on anything you saw in WayGenie, please verify independently:
- visa, passport validity, and entry requirements;
- required and recommended vaccinations;
- current FCDO (or your country's equivalent) travel advice;
- transport schedules, prices, and bookings;
- accommodation availability and bookings;
- opening hours and ticketing of any attraction;
- accessibility for any specific needs you have;
- travel insurance.
5. Where AI Output Comes From
AI itinerary text is generated by Anthropic (Claude API). AI imagery is generated by OpenAI. See our Privacy Policy for what we send to each provider and what they do with it.
6. Your Data and AI
We do not send your name, email, or other identifying data to the AI providers; only the trip details you have entered (destination, dates, party size, interests, budget). Both providers contractually undertake not to train on data submitted via their commercial APIs.
7. Liability
Subject to your statutory consumer rights and the limitations in our Terms of Service, we are not liable for any loss caused by reliance on AI output. The AI is a tool, not a guarantee.
